As a Category Analyst you will be part of the procurement team. Within procurement our 5 core functions are Inventory Control, Marketing, Pricing, Negotiating and Sourcing. As a Category Analyst you will act as a support position to Buyers and Vendor Managers for the marketing, sourcing and pricing functions. A category analyst is responsible analyzing market trends, pricing and product line assortment for their category. They will be tasked with suggesting changes within their category that will increase category revenue and gross profit. A category analyst will be an out of the box thinker and must be comfortable presenting their ideas to multiple buyers or vendor managers. This position could lead to a senior procurement role in Buying or Category Management.
