Job Title: Income Tax Manager

Clark Associates is seeking a driven and motivated Income Tax Manager to manage all income tax planning, compliance and analysis for the Clark Associates companies and shareholders.  These companies are a diverse and growing group of entities with a wide variety of tax questions and opportunities.  The Income Tax Manager is also responsible for managing and developing the current tax team.

This position reports directly to the CFO. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage tax processes for the Clark Associates companies and individual shareholders, including:  
    • Income tax compliance for pass-through entities and individuals
    • Tax planning for entities and individuals
    • Informational reporting for private foundation
    • Tax fixed asset records and calculations
    • State and local incentives research, applications, and claims
    • Distribution calculations for pass-through tax liability
    • Stock value calculations and entity ownership records
    • Correspondence with tax agencies
    • Compliance for property taxes, business licensing, and other miscellaneous taxes
    • Audit management as needed
    • Ad-hoc projects as identified
  • Identify and research opportunities to manage and minimize all tax liabilities
  • Educate management on impact of changes in applicable tax laws and of tax positions taken
  • Identify tax technology needs and work with in house and/or third party IT to develop solutions
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop and implement solutions
  • Involvement with development of corporate documents and Secretary of State filings as needed
  • Develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with shareholders, Business Services and IT team members, and other stakeholders within the Clark Associates companies
  • Train, mentor, and develop members of tax team
  • Manage all other aspects of the tax function for the Clark Associates companies and their shareholders
  • Other items and projects as identified

  • Strong technical understanding of taxation of pass-through entities, and individuals, including impact of TCJA and other recent changes to tax regs
  • Proficiency with MS Excel expected
  • Proficiency with CCH ProSystem fx Tax, BNA Fixed Assets, and Bloomberg Tax desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA required, MST desired
  • 5+ years of related experience, including at least one year of managing personnel
