Job Description

Clark Associates is looking for a Senior Category Manager to join our team. Qualified candidates will bring procurement experience to the position and be ready to take full and independent ownership over a product category or categories. Senior Category Managers at Clark Associates have full control over the entire product vertical and execute the category strategy, vision, and sales growth, as well as brands and the breadth of the line.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership, management and accountability for product category or categories
  • Independently creates and executes strategy, vision and growth of category sales, brands, and breadth of line
  • Sets all goals within category including strategic pricing structures to achieve
  • Owns key vendor relationships within product category or categories
  • Creates and initiates online and in-store category marketing and enhancements to improve overall shop-ability (ie. merchandising, vendor ranking, product launches, etc.)
  • Eliminates barriers to aide team effectiveness
  • Promotes vision, values, and culture


Skills & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3+ years experience in marketing, product or category development, or purchasing-related role
  • Proven success at managing and leading a team
  • Professional and effective communication skills and ability to bridge departments to complete tasks
  • Creative and innovative thinker who can think outside of the box to solve problems and address bottlenecks
  • Well-developed analytical skills; intuitive, curious and comfortable with change
  • Strong computer skills; emphasis in Excel


About the Procurement Department

  • Clark Associates’ Procurement Department is responsible for purchasing all product sold through our 3 main channels of distribution - WebstaurantStore.com, The Restaurant Stores, and our specialty channels, Clark National Accounts, Hometown Provisions, Clark Food Service Equipment and 11400, Inc. This includes 340k+ items, 67k+ stocked items and 1200+ vendors. In 2020, we did $1.9B in sales. Hiring Process

  • Following the phone interview, you may be invited in for an in-person interview with 2 or more of our Procurement Managers
  • Following the in-person interview, you may be invited back for a team shadowing and then a final decision will be made
